  1. All, employers and self-employed persons are reminded that remittance payments for November 2018 are due no later than 14th December 2018 to avoid the 10% surcharge. Further, employers are asked to take due care when submitting the monthly Remittance Form [R5A] as any incomplete or incorrect information will attract a penalty fee of $100 per page. N.B.: For 2018, contribution rates are: Private Sector - 12½% > Employees - 5¼% > Employers - 7¼% Public Sector - 11½% > Employees - 4¼% > Employers - 7¼% Self-Employed persons remain at 10%. Remittance payments can be made at the Drop Box located at the Royal Palm Branch; Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m - 3:30 p.m. Please be guided accordingly.

The Social Security Office wishes to advise all its pensioners who usually receive their cheques via the General Post Office that they should visit the Social Security Office on the corner of Long and Cross Streets to collect their November 2018 cheques between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. commencing 27 November 2018. All pensioners are reminded to walk with their Social Security cards when collecting pension cheques. Any inconvenience caused is regretted.

  6. The Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board apologizes to the pensioners of Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank and the Bank of Nova Scotia for the inordinate delay of pension payments for October 2018. The Organization has been experiencing funding challenges due to the low returns of remittances. Contribution Income is usually low in the summer months and September, historically. We wish to advise that funds for Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank have been released and we intend to release the funds for the Bank of Nova Scotia on Friday 16th, November 2018. Again, we apologize to our pensioners who have been unfortunately affected by the current situation and pledge our commitment to addressing these funding issues.
