The Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB) wishes to advise the general public of the closure of our office from 12:00 noon on Monday 23 April 2018, to allow staff to attend the Thanksgiving Service for the life of Mr. Donald D. F. Christian - former Chairman of the ABSSB [1989 - 1999]. Please note that our cashier services will close from 11:15 a.m. on that day. Normal operations will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday 24 April 2018. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

  2. All employers and self employed persons are reminded that remittance payments are due no later than April 16th, 2018 to avoid the 10% surcharge. Also, the ½ % increase in contribution rate took effect as of January 1, 2018. Private Sector - 12½ % - Employees - 5¼ % - Employers - 7¼ % Public Sector - 11½ % - Employees - 4¼ % - Employers - 7¼ % The contribution rate for Self-employed persons remains at 10%. The Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB) wishes to notify the general public that funds have been released for March 2018 for the following financial institutions: AXCEL FINANCE, Seventh Day Adventist Credit Union, Community First Co-operative Credit Union, C.H.A.P.A, FAST CASH, COURTS, St. John's Co-operative Credit Union, Finance Development Co. Ltd, Caribbean Union Bank, Antigua & Barbuda Development Bank, Antigua Commercial Bank, RBC/RBTT, CIBC-First Caribbean and Bank of Nova Scotia. The ABSSB will continue to update pension payments accordingly.

The general public is hereby advised that commencing 5th February 2018, there will be a change in the operating hours for persons visiting the ABSSB’s Customer Service Department located at London House. Operating Hours: · Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. · Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Customer Service Representatives will be available to address queries via the telephone or online until the close of business daily - 4:15 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays; and 4:00 p.m. on Fridays. The ABSSB remains committed to its contributors and beneficiaries as it aims to enhance its service delivery.

The ABSSB wishes to advise the general public and especially businesses which may accept a Social Security card as a form of identification, that the new Social Security card does not nullify any previous Social Security card currently in circulation. The Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board wishes to advise the general public that with immediate effect the relationship between the Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board and the GeoTech Company Limited has been severed. Furtherto, the GeoTech Company Limited does not have the legal authority nor did the GeoTech Company Limited ever have the legal authority to sell land at Paynter's Place on behalf of the Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board. The general public is hereby advised to take note and be guided accordingly.
