The Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB) is advising all employers that the implementation date of the $100 penalty fee per page for the submission of incomplete or incorrect information, which was earmarked for 1st July 2018, has been deferred pending outcome of discussions - re: The Social Security (Collection of Contributions) Regulations, 2013, S.I. No. 15 of 2013, subsection 15 (2) - with the Employers Federation, Chambers of Commerce and the Government of Antigua & Barbuda. The ABSSB will notify employers, subsequently.

  5. In accordance with The Social Security (Collection of Contributions) Regulations, 2013, S.I. No. 15 of 2013, subsection 15 (2), the Antigua & Barbuda Social Security Board (ABSSB) wishes to notify all employers that commencing 1st July 2018, a fee of $100.00 per page will be charged for the submission of incomplete or incorrect information on each remittance form. An incomplete or incorrect remittance form means submissions with: ? missing or incorrect social security numbers; ? missing or incorrect employees’ names; ? incorrect calculations; ? unadjusted earnings; ? missing pay dates [i.e. weekly/fortnightly]; ? missing employer’s name, registration number and/or signature. Employers are asked to contact the Compliance Department at 736-3076 for more information. Thank you for your kind cooperation.

Also, the ½ % increase in contribution rate took effect as of January 1, 2018. Private Sector - 12½ % - Employees - 5¼ % - Employers - 7¼ % Public Sector - 11½ % - Employees - 4¼ % - Employers - 7¼ % The contribution rate for Self-employed persons remains at 10%. A second Drop Box for remittance payments is located at the Royal Palm Branch; and, is accessible Monday to Friday: 8:00 am - 3:30 pm.

The general public is hereby advised that commencing 5th February 2018, there will be a change in the operating hours for persons visiting the ABSSB’s Customer Service Department located at London House. Operating Hours: · Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. · Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Customer Service Representatives will be available to address queries via the telephone or online until the close of business daily - 4:15 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays; and 4:00 p.m. on Fridays.
