Persons who may receive grant. 5. Time within which claim shall be made.
ANTIGUA STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS ______ 1973 No. 39 ______ Social
Security (Benefits) (Funeral Grant) Regulations, 1973 made by the Minister of Home
Affairs and Labour under sections 27 and 29 of the Social Security Act, 1972
(3of 1972). ______ 1. These regulations
may be cited as the Social Security (Benefits) Citation and (Funeral Grants) Regulations, 1973 and shall come into
operation commencement. on
the 24th day of September, 1973. 2. In these
regulations, unless the context otherwise requires- Interpretation. Acontribution@ means weekly insurance contribution as specified
in the Social Security (Collection of Contributions) Regulations, 1973. S.R.&O. 13/1973. 3. Subject to
regulation 5, a funeral grant of one hundred and fifty Entitlement to grant. dollars
shall be payable on the death of any insured person- (1)
who at the time of death
was in receipt of sickness or
maternity benefits; (2)
who, whilst not in
receipt of sickness or maternity benefits,
would have been entitled to such benefits at
the time of death; (3)
who at the time of death
was receiving, had received or
satisfied the contribution conditions for receiving invalidity
or age benefits: or (4)
in respect of whom not
less than 26 contributions been
paid in the 12 months immediately preceding his
death. 4. (1) Subject to regulation 5, a funeral grant shall be paid to the Persons
who may receive person or persons who has met or is liable to meet the
cost grant. of
the funeral of the deceased person. (2) Where
the person who has met or is liable to meet the cost of
the funeral of the deceased person cannot be traced after
reasonable enquiries the grant shall be paid to such person
or persons as the Director may decide. 5. No claim for a funeral
grant shall be entertained unless made to Time within which claim the Director in such form as the Director may

Regulation 3 of Principal Regulations.
Regulations 3 of the principal Regulations is amended by repealing the
words Aone hundred and fifty@ and substituting the words Atwo
hundred and fifty@. Made
